- Nicholas John Roske, 26, of Simi Valley, made his first court appearance in Greenbelt, Maryland, on Wednesday afternoon.

A federal criminal complaint was filed on Wednesday charging a Californian man with the attempted murder of US Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

Per an affidavit, two US Deputy Marshals witnessed a guy wearing dark clothing and carrying a bag and suitcase exit a taxicab that had stopped in front of Kavanaugh’s home on June 8, 2022, at approximately 1:05 a.m.
The person, later identified as Roske, turned to go down the street after looking at the two deputy U.S. Marshals who were standing next to their parked car.
Roske was eventually apprehended by police after calling an emergency number and telling them he had a pistol in his suitcase, was suicidal, and planned to assassinate Brett Kavanaugh.

A black tactical chest rig and tactical knife, a revolver with two magazines and ammunition, a pepper spray, and other weapons were discovered in his suitcase and backpack.
